The locavore food and travel movement is in full swing! Presented by Zipcar, Cabot Cheese, Brooklyn Tourism and Amtrak, this year the Expo features a “Made in Brooklyn” Marketplace downstairs in the bank vault with 25+ Brooklyn farms, Made in Brooklyn products and restaurants that source locally – designed to highlight Brooklyn as the premiere culinary escape. Upstairs on the main floor, the Expo will feature 50+ weekend getaway destinations, wineries and farms from Vermont to Pennsylvania – all within a day’s drive or train ride of NYC.

2nd Annual Local Food & Travel Expo – Saturday April 14, 2012 (12pm-5pm)  Over 50 getaway destinations, from counties to towns to local farms and bed & breakfasts within a day's drive or train ride of NYC will be exhibiting on the main floor. Find out what's hot in sustainable travel and sample local wines and foods! Plus, nosh your way through the “Made in Brooklyn” Marketplace in the bank vault downstairs and get a fresh new perspective on Brooklyn as an agri-tourism escape and culinary destination. 50 overnight getaway prizes will be given away and there will be educational workshops, food demonstrations and other activities throughout the day! Carbon offsets by and Green Mountain Energy and free bike valet service by Transportation Alternatives. A portion of door sales will benefit kid’s two charities, GrowNYC’s “GrowtoLearn” and “Camp Brooklyn.”
