Reading
has a variety of lodging options like the convenient and
cosmopolitan Lincoln Plaza Hotel & Conference Center
on Fifth Street, downtown. Rates begin at $99/night. The
Stirling Guest Hotel on Centre Avenue, a beautifully
restored mansion and carriage house, is perfect for a special
weekend. Some rooms come with Jacuzzis, fireplaces and balconies.
Rates range from $125 to $300 per night.
You'll
have no trouble finding a B&B either. Consider the Overlook
Mansion Bed & Breakfast. The home is so wonderfully
furnished that it is often rented for parties and events.
Rates start at $85/night. Adrienne's Inn at Centre Park
is a grand and romantic 1877 Victorian mansion. ($175-$225
per suite.) Both are in the Centre Park Historic District,
about five blocks north of Penn Street on the west side
of town.
Farther
out, you'll find familiar places like the Sheraton Reading
Hotel (pictured left) and Clarion/Inn at Reading,
both in Wyomissing, just beyond West Reading. Prices begin
at $99 and $119, respectively.
In
the town of Ephrata, try The Inns at Doneckers.
The four-building homestead dates back to the 18th century
and has a wide range of lodging options.

Practically
every chain restaurant known to man can be found in Reading.
If you're looking for old standbys like Denny's and Olive
Garden, you won't be disappointed and you won't have to
look hard. But if you want to delve into local eateries,
there's plenty of variety awaiting you. If you're heading
out to Adamstown for a day of antiquing, you'll certainly
want to stop along the way for a bite to eat. Stoudt's
Black Angus Restaurant, part of the Stoudtburg complex,
serves steak and also has a raw bar. The Black Horse
Restaurant and Tavern, at the Pennsylvania Turnpike
and Route 272, provides "country cuisine" in a comfortable
setting. Other great options include Judy's on Cherry!
