The
Hudson River School of painting centered around the picturesque
region. Inspired by their surroundings, artists like Thomas
Cole and Jasper Cropsey viewed the uniquely American landscape
as muse.
A
visit to the Hudson Valley is the perfect change of pace for
city-dwellers with little time to spare—many towns are
less than an hour from NYC! And the area is also well-suited
to the more leisurely traveler, as there are literally hundreds
of things to do and see in the region.
Whether
you're looking for a slice of history, love antiquing, or are
an outdoor enthusiast, the Hudson Valley has you covered. From
the Sleepy Hollow region just north of the Bronx to the great
estates of the upper valley, you're bound to find something
to suit you.
