Adjust to the slower pace
of sleepy Spring Lake and youll be fine. Spring Lake is extremely walkable.
Exploring the town by bike is even better. From the train station, take a right

LODGING
|
 |
There are tons of bed and breakfasts to choose
from in Spring Lake, both by the ocean and in town.
We recommend The Chateau Inn (starting at $89/night) as it is within view
of the train station. Owner Scott Smith, offers a wonderful buffet
breakfast and provides bikes for the use of his guests (pictured left).
Ashling Cottage
is wonderfully convenient to other sites in town of interest to visitors. In addition
to its convenience to the ocean and boardwalk, this historic Inn is also half a
block from the lake, two blocks to the shopping village and a five-minute walk to
some of the best restaurants in the area.
Just
one block off the ocean, the Normandy Inn will not only
meet you at the train or bus station, they'll provide complimentary
bikes for use during your stay. We also recommend The
White Lilac Inn, four blocks
off the beach and fronting Wreck Pond with over one hundred
and eighty total feet of veranda. The lakefront ocean-view Hewitt
Wellington Inn also offers extremely comfortable and well
appointed rooms as does the Ocean House. You might also
try Evergreen Inn Bed & Breakfast.
Just two miles north of Spring Lake in Avon-by-the-Sea,
try Avon Manor Inn
and Cottage Rentals.

NIGHTLIFE
|
 |
Spring Lake is all about romance so there isnt
much nightlife to choose from. Your best bet for entertainment is the Spring Lake
Theatre Company. Call ahead for their schedule. For the pub scene, youll
have to take a taxi to nearby Belmar or Sea Girt.
Some of the B&Bs have VCRs in the room, however there is no video
store in town, so youll have to bring your own.
