Jennifer Woofter Founder & President of Strategic Sustainability Consulting

Ms. Woofter draws upon more than a decade of experience in the fields of organizational sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and socially responsible investing.

She has worked with more than 50 clients on projects including Green Auditing, Sustainability Master Planning, Carbon Footprint Analysis, Stakeholder Engagement, Training and Facilitation, and Sustainability Reporting. She currently manages the SSC Consultant Network, an association of more than 450 professionals with expertise in virtually every area of sustainability.

Ms. Woofter is a member of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) and Net Impact, and has authored a number of sustainability-related articles and reports.  She speaks regularly on panels, working groups, and at conferences.  Her leadership helped SSC become an EPA EnergyStar Partner, an EPA WasteWise Partner, and a member of the EPA and DOT “Best Workplaces for Commuters” program. She has been featured in a variety of publications, including a profile in the Washington Post, regular contributions to Entrepreneur Magazine, and interviews in Inc. Magazine, Deliver Magazine,, SustainLane, Management Consultant Quarterly, and the Maryland Daily Record. In 2007, she received a citation from Maryland State for her contributions to promoting green business.

Ms. Woofter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon, and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Virginia Tech. She also holds a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership Towards Sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden.


 Caylin Sanders Founder & President of

Ms. Sanders, originally from Los Angeles, graduated Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, with a major in theatre and art. Focusing on design and marketing, she worked for DC Comics, Time Warner, Giraldi Suarez Productions and JP Morgan.

In early 2000, Ms. Sanders founded, a guide to weekend getaways and day trips within a day's drive or train ride from New York City. It has been recognized by The Daily News, NBC News, Fox 5 TV, ABC 7 TV, The New York Times, Business Week, Time Out Magazine and The Wall Street Journal as a forerunner in local content. Regular advertising clients include I LOVENY, Amtrak, Marriott and Metro-North. 

Ms. Sanders was honored with a small business award from S.C.O.R.E for her success with and contributions to the tourism industry, and by the New York State Tourism & Hospitality Association for her work as a board member. In addition, she speaks on best E-Marketing practices, packaging and destination promotion to various tourism and lodging associations throughout the Northeast, including the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

In 2009, relaunched with a themed package section, travel niche articles, improved lodging searches, a social media focus and a “green getaway” commitment. In 2010, EscapeMaker won an Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences – NY for their spring webisode in a four-part series focusing on the Agri-tourism of New York State.
